THE WAYFINDING PRINCIPLE
Wayfinding is a beautiful thing. It's like angels or goblins, no but really angels, coming to your rescue to help you find your way from one node to the next. It is interesting to me that those interesting tiles on floors in hospitals, libraries, and other public buildings serve a higher purpose than mere decoration. This to me is a very inspiring job, and important because this job title acts as a silent guide. In design, as I have found, you can manipulate people into selfish promotion, and,or you can manipulate people into finding exactly what they want and quite possibly what they need(hospitals). Here are some fun examples of how you can help people to destination, with a little style(wink)!

Religion in America
Religion in America is a constant everchanging
Demographic. With all denominations, it is much like a revolving door.
People change churches as common as they change hairstyles.
People still pray and have faith, the most common prayer is self motivated. However female prayer is high on prayer for others and even people they don't know. Amongst men it is almost a zero for prayer outside the family.

Sweeney, Kawika

- Tie in some design elements from actual webpage
Unit 2 Reading Blog
The one piece of information that Cairo has in my unit two reading, is to layout your information elements in rectangles, Boxes! That helps, I especially like the fact that Cairo will design a "sketch in Illustrator just to get a visual on his screen and then the final document, is close to his quick rendering but much more refined. I also like the fact that as a journalist, it definitely shows in what he is trying to teach us in terms of being organized so much to the point that the story comes across completely understandable, and foremost information hierarchy and clean design. His sample of the infographic of the saints is a beautiful design process in how he sketches lightly, organizes in arranges on the page with illustrator, and then when all information is fully rendered and cohesive, Cairo applies the finishing touches like the page as curled scroll! That is one amazing piece of information design that is neat, orderly, and beautifully, artfully designed. Structure, architecture, and Great use of text, color (few, maybe three is good), and layout is what is the most important things to start out with.
