Unit 2 Reading Blog

The one piece of information that Cairo has in my unit two reading, is to layout your information elements in rectangles, Boxes! That helps, I especially like the fact that Cairo will design a "sketch in Illustrator just to get a visual on his screen and then the final document, is close to his quick rendering but much more refined.  I also like the fact that as a journalist, it definitely shows in what he is trying to teach us in terms of being organized so much to the point that the story comes across completely understandable, and foremost information hierarchy and clean design.  His sample of the infographic of the saints is a beautiful design process in how he sketches lightly, organizes in arranges on the page with illustrator, and then when all information is fully rendered and cohesive, Cairo applies the finishing touches like the page as curled scroll! That is one amazing piece of information design that is neat, orderly, and beautifully, artfully designed.  Structure, architecture, and Great use of text, color (few, maybe three is good), and layout is what is the most important things to start out with.
